Sixteen and daydreaming about a career in magazines. I still own the Swatch.

I'm an author, journalist, and editor with twenty years of media experience.

I've ghostwritten several New York Times best sellers, coauthored a Lambda Literary Award-nominated book with the late Edie Windsor, and Mother Jones named my own book, Pill Head, one of their top books of 2009.

I've held senior editor positions at magazines like Jane, Us Weekly, Country Living, and V and VMAN, and have written for a variety of outlets, from Modern Farmer to Nylon. I'm currently an editor and writer at Wirecutter, the product review site of The New York Times.
